I would like to think that our site serves a duel purpose. On one end it is the premiere switch designing site, where any who are interested in making switches can come, to learn how to make them, and receive advice on how to improve what they alreadyhave made. A gathering place for creative minds, to help one another produce the finest switches. Examples of this community's cooperation and drive are everywhere, but the paragon example may well be the Drawbridge switch. The original concept was created by Tucker, next an aspiring switchmaker, who has since risen to the rank of artificer, a pmp nmd slkbk, re-engineered his idea to create the second version. After, with the help of Coyote and Myself, we three created the final version. Ironically, a fourth version is in the working as I write this, with help from another of our Admins, Zero Fox. That may be the focus of the site but I believe that there is a second, equally important purpose. Not everyone is willing or able to create new and innovative switches, but they should not be excluded from their use, and that is why I treat H3Artificer as a resource, for all those who wish only to use switches, only to implement them in their maps in order to make them better. That is why our switch and map forums are viewable to guests. so that we may include everyone in the art of switches. As Coyote aptly stated "Switches are meant to be shared, not kept for self-glory! That's why this site was made, as in you should be honored if someone uses it in their map...". There is no better way to put it then that. |
